Club Organisation

The Rotary Club of Darwin is part of District 9550, which covers the northern parts of the Northern Territory, North Queensland and Timor Leste. District 9550 has 50 clubs with a total membership of around 1,150. The Rotary Club of Darwin was chartered on 8 September 1958 and was the first club in the Northern Territory. The Club was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Port Adelaide, South Australia

Rotary International is governed by a president and board of directors elected from all over the world. Annually, each District elects a District Governor and each club elects its officers and directors. These members form the club’s Board which looks after the club’s day-to-day operation, assisted by a number of small committees.
