The Rotary Club of Darwin is part of District 9550, which covers the northern parts of the Northern Territory, North Queensland and Timor Leste. District 9550 has 50 clubs with a total membership of around 1,150. The Rotary Club of Darwin was chartered on 8 September 1958 and was the first club in the Northern Territory. The Club was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Port Adelaide, South Australia Rotary International is governed by a president and board of directors elected from all over the world. Annually, each District elects a District Governor and each club elects its officers and directors. These members form the club’s Board which looks after the club’s day-to-day operation, assisted by a number of small committees. |
